Jane recently retired as high school teacher librarian at Mira Costa HS in Manhattan Beach, where she worked to empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users and creators of information and to share their voices, connect with the world, and make a difference. She continues to work with other educators, sharing her enthusiasm for using technology and social media to enhance learning, efficiency, and engagement. She has presented at conferences, delivered professional development training sessions, and taught online classes. She is a volunteer leader in professional associations, including being 2012-2013 President of California School Library Association; a current member of the American Association of School Librarians Social Media Board, Social Media Recognitions Task Force Chair, and 2017 Conference Committee; and an active blogger and tweeter. She is also a Google for Education Innovator and Trainer.
