Sebastian Cognetta holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California and is the Director at Aveson Charter Schools, a breakthrough public school pioneering Personalized Mastery Learning (PML). With more than fifteen years experience in education, Dr. Cognetta was instrumental in establishing Aveson, one of the first PML public schools in the country. Prior to Aveson, he helped to establish a team teaching concept at California’s Southridge Middle School and later served as a consultant to assist public school districts across the country customize educator professional development. He has presented at a number of conferences, including Deeper Learning; International Studies Schools Network; Partnership for Global Learning; Project Based Learning. Most recently, he presented at ASCD 2016 National Conference and ASCD Conference on Teaching Excellence.
